Mission Statement
We seek to develop people, especially unemployed people, socially, economically, emotionally and spiritually

The communities Learn to Earn serves are previously disadvantaged communities, with unemployment rates ranging from 30% to 70%. In the Western Cape the unemployment rate is  between 27.8 % and 32 %.82% of the unemployed are under the age of 40. These communities are characterised by high poverty incidence, where many live in informal housing. The poverty statistics reveal that 32.5% of households in Cape Town fall below the poverty line of R1845/month/household. A household is mostly made up of 7 adults and a number of children. The other factor that adds to unemployment and poverty is lack of education. 12 – 13 % of the unemployed cannot read or write. On average the unemployed that are trained at Learn to Earn have not had more than 7 years of schooling. The training we offer recognises the above mentioned problems in that it not only focuses on giving people practical skills but also addresses other social issues such as HIV/AIDS, Literacy and Numeracy. Vision Statement
We strive to eradicate unemployment and other legacies of injustice, in South Africa and Africa.

Our vision is to see the injustices committed in the past, in South Africa, as well as in the rest of Africa, reversed. Through providing a programme that recognises human dignity and the human right to live a meaningful life, we aim to assist individuals to regain their self respect. We do this by empowering them to provide for themselves and for their families.
