PR, Marketing and Communications Manager – Khayelitsha Cape Town – Full Time
Objectives of the position
To maintain, develop and grow the public profile of the organisation, through above-the-line and below-the-line marketing, targeted at individuals, groups, communities and businesses. The objective is to make Learn to Earn synonymous with successful development of unemployed people.
Responsibilities attached to the position:
As the PR, Marketing & Communications person for the group, your objective will be to develop and manage all of LtE’s Public Relations, Marketing and Communication activities. This will include:
· Developing a comprehensive strategy for marketing LtE and making it a household name in the township and among Corporations/Churches/Clubs etc.
· Organising and co-ordinating annual promotional events: Annual Dinner, Golf Days et. al
· Assuming responsibility for the continued development of LtE’s communication with the general public, supporters, churches and other societal organisations
· To promote and endorse the philosophy, principles and mission statement of LtE.
· Working closely with volunteers in maintaining and developing LtE’s newsletters with current information and managing and updating LtE’s website.
· Work with the Director on cause-related marketing opportunities and B-BBEE opportunities
· Manage the compilation and printing of LtE’s annual report
· To work closely with the LtE Director in establishing additional revenue streams
· To work closely with the Director on the development of our promotional material, brochures for our products as well as informational reports and press releases
· To assist with the organizing and carrying out of regular duties within the organisation that will promote professionalisms and efficiency.
· To ensure that on a monthly basis prayer updates are sent out as well as a standard letter to be used by Branch Managers et. al.
· To be involved in Branch Managers meetings
Your background requirements should show:
· At least 5 years experience in public relations and marketing. Fundraising experience will be beneficial
· Advanced computer skills with knowledge of HTML, Adobe CS, and MS Office in particular Outlook.
· Have well-developed communication and written skills in English. Xhosa and any other languages would be beneficial.
· Good planning skills, a huge amount of initiative and creativity
· Excellent public presentation and speaking skills
· Well-developed understanding of and experience in intercultural communication
· A relevant business degree or diploma is desirable.
A sound understanding of the concepts of holistic human development from a Christian perspective is essential as is creativity and initiative and the ability to relate to a multicultural ministry team.
The commercial nature of this appointment calls for a commercially astute Christian business person capable of developing training & mentorship opportunities and partnerships for the investment of skills into the lives of many.

Financial Manager
Objectives of the position
Learn to Earn (LtE) is a Christian organization which seeks to develop people, especially unemployed people, socially, economically, emotionally and spiritually.
LtE is looking for a full time Financial Manager to take full responsibility for the financial administration of the organisation.
Responsibilities attached to the position
· Hold to LtE’s statement of faith and be an active member of an evangelical church.
· Minimum BCom Accounting or Financial Management qualification.
· Will be required to undertake full accounting role including all payments, bank reconciliations, accounting up to balance sheet, budgets, VAT returns, salaries and HR statutory returns.
· At least 5 years financial management experience.
· Thorough understanding of business practice including, inter alia, financial administration.
· Computer literacy in the latest versions of Pastel and MS Excel; familiarity with internet banking
· Well developed communication skills in English - knowledge of Xhosa would be extremely beneficial.
· Systems oriented with good planning skills.
· Ability to work cross-culturally.
· Work in Khayelitsha.
