Our BEE Partnerships

Ian Dry, LtE’s volunteer BEE adviser,
Roché van Wyk, LtE director and
Paul Newman, Amperzand MD
On 27 March 2006, Learn to Earn signed it’s first ever BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) partnership with Amperzand. Amperzand is a small to medium Marketing and Advertising Company that focuses on both above and below the line marketing. It is a new-generation advertising, design and communications agency with a very distinctive focus. Their core function is to create and strengthen relationships. Amperzand is also about providing solutions for companies through strategic advertising.
The owner, Mr. Paul Newman, had the following to say about why he wanted to engage LtE in this partnership: “When considering my BEE strategy, I came to the conclusion that giving a percentage of my business to one or two individuals was enriching only those people. Partnering with LtE meant that every year at least 450 previously disadvantaged people would benefit from this broad based economic partnership”.
In addition, the partnership has great opportunity to grow in areas such as procurement, learnerships, enterprise development and staff development within LtE and Corporate Social Investment. Also, the nature of Amperzand’s business will provide a gateway into the market place for Learn to Earn’s Graphic Design students.
