Learn to Earn is often approached by organisations and individuals to be used as case studies in doctoral theses, forums and workshops etc.
In 2012 we were used as a case study for the Trickle Out Research Project. Trickle Out is a research project funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) examining social enterprises and environmental enterprises in Eastern and Southern Africa. The project considers the role and potential contribution of such enterprises to sustainable development and poverty alleviation. The project is based in Queen's University Management School, Queen's University Belfast.
In addition to our association member's research published by Learn to Earn. We have also worked closely with Ashoka and the International Labour Organisation. For the latter we did a large research project in 2009, on a 'Community Analysis of Social Enterprise Development in the Cape Flats area, Western Cape, South Africa', using the methodology and systems we refined through our own research projects we have conducted.
We have also partnered with the UCT Graduate School of Business in their annual research regarding GEM, The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor in 2009.

2016 Thundafund Campaign
In November 2016 we ran a Thundafund fundraising campaign to raise R75 000 via the crowdfunding platform. We are excited to announce that campaign was a success! With days to go we made the target, and even better news, we had a matching giver, which allowed us to purchase a second machine and grinder. 2011 IFWA anti-ivory campaign
In 2011 Learn to Earn was chosen by The International Fund for Animal Welfare to create 100 000 elephant badges. Over 200 ladies across the Peninsula hand sewed elephant badges to be handed out in the UK, Europe, USA during IFWA's fundraising and anti-ivory poaching awareness campaign. IFWA's South African Communications Manager Christina Pretorius put together a brief video overview of the project.

Learn to Earn has been changing lives since 1989. During this time we have established two multi-million rand training centres and have skilled over 9000 previously unemployed people with market related skills, thus empowering them to provide for themselves and their families.
We have conducted community research and analysis for many NPO's and PBO's including Phambili Nge Themba, Fisantékraal Centre for Development, the GetOn Foundation and the International Labour Organisation. The research for the IOL was completed in 2009 and was entitled Potential Social Enterprise Development Opportunities in the Cape Flats Area, Western Cape.
We have also advised many NPO's and PBO's on their strategy with regard to establishing community organisations that focus on skills development and job creation using Learn to Earn's model.
While each Community Analysis is costed individually, the minimum cost would be in the region of R250 000. While it is the organisation's responsibility to raise this, LtE will assist where possible.

Which organisations can become members?
Organisations that are:
• developing unemployed people to become economically active,
• Christian and willing to implement LtE's holistic philosophy of development,
• have the necessary NPO and PBO registrations,
• have developed a track record that demonstrates good leadership and sustainability, and
• committed to doing the community analysis.
What are my responsibilities as a member of the LtE Association?
• To contribute to developing best practice through sharing information and resources.
• To conduct all activities and training with professionalism and integrity.
• To live out the values of the LtE Association.
• To participate in a monitoring and evaluation process which focusses on the organisation's development.
• To fulfil all statutory requirements for a NPO/PBO.
• To pay the LtE Association fees which are set annually.
How does my organisation become an LtE Association member?
What does it cost to be a member of the LtE Association?
Currently the annual membership fee is R14 000 + vat. There are other costs depending on the services rendered by LtE.
